The 3rd workshop on motivation was organized as a part of transnational conference of the partnership REAL at the beginning of June 2007 in Czech Republic.
The final document on motivation, compiled in cooperation of the involved DPs, was presented and distributed to the participants of the confrence.

The representatives of different relevant organizations have discussed the problematic aspects of the motivation and retention of disadvantaged people in the process of lifelong learning. It was focused on finding out the main barriers and possible strategies for their remotion and reduction.

The transnational partnership REAL has agreed on the common comparative study focused on the motivation and retention of learners before and during the training. Provisional version was compiled from the contributions written by the involved DP after the first workshop. This version was discussed, modified and further supplemented by the participants during the second workshop held on 6.12.2006 in Dijon.
The partners have been working on the last chapter "Good Practices" which will be now compiled and agreed by all involved DPs. Final version of the comparative study will be available and disseminated to public at the beginning of June 2007 during the transnational conference in the Czech Republic.

Workshop 1 - "Motivation and retention of the trainees before and during training"
Held on 8 and 9 November 2005

The representatives of the DPs from the Czech Republic, Wales and France have met together for exchange the information, experiences and good practices with the motivation and retention of adult trainees before and during the training.
First day of the workshop was arranged for presentations of the DPs. Each DP has described the realized project in general and then characterised the target groups, the situtation in its own region and the specific problems solved by EQUAL project. There were presented the theoretical views as well as the practical aspects of the motivation, the partners have mutually informed about used strategies (pedagogical, psychological, political etc.). There was also a useful time to explain the particularities of each DP, to precise some aspects of the documents and to ask the most important questions.
Second day of the workshop was targeted to discuss the theme of motivation deeply and to settle on the main chapters of the intended comparative study. The partners have agreed on the preliminar content:
